I think it's funny when people think that they have the right to be critical of their Creator but not think it His right to be critical of them. We can talk for days about this or that thing that we don't agree with or understand about the character of God, but can only stand to listen momentarily when the Word wants to address something that it doesn't agree with or understand in our character.
I think it's funny that one of the major criticisms offered about God is that Creation seems to be nothing more than a grand example of His ego. We are uncomfortable with anyone being in a position of authority above us because we've told ourselves that we're capable, empowered individuals who have the right of self-agency. And when that agency is threatened by God's desire to guide us towards something other than that which we are/are becoming, we marginalize Him by chalking his guidance up to the idea that He's ego-driven and power hungry. This is funny, of course, because of the ego it takes to come up with such an idea.
So it goes that most of our criticisms of God should probably be more appropriately redirected at and reflected back unto ourselves.
"Funny" here is not so "ha-ha" as it is folly.
